3@3 on Solar PV: Pricing, Grid Defection, Disaster Relief

Jenn Runyon, Chief Editor of Renewable Energy World and Paula Mints, Chief Market Research Analyst with SPV Market Research discuss three hot topics in the global solar industry for three minutes each.

Today’s topics include PV module pricing and how the trade case is already impacting prices despite that fact that nothing has been made official yet. As Paula says, “no news is bad news.”

We’ll also review grid defection in light of recent disasters that have left people without power for extended periods of time. Once solar PV and batteries are cheap enough, if utilities are still getting crippled by big natural disasters, grid defection could be the result.

Lastly, we’ll discuss how modular solar can come to the rescue in some cases, such as Puerto Rico.
